Explore The Trails on Horseback: A Rustic Adventure Awaits

At High Hope Ranch, we offer over 20 miles of trails perfect for horseback riding, set in the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. This region is renowned for its rugged, rolling landscapes, diverse wildlife, and stunning vistas, making it an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you’re an experienced rider or just looking for a peaceful escape, our trails offer a chance to explore this breathtaking area in a truly unique way.

The Texas Hill Country Experience

Riding horseback through the Hill Country is unlike any other experience. The natural beauty here is extraordinary, with open pastures, rugged terrain, and steep uphill climbs that reward you with panoramic views of the surrounding hills. As you ride through this serene landscape, you’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time—away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, into a place where nature still reigns.

With the winding trails that carve through both wooded areas and open Pastures, you’ll encounter the true spirit of the Texas Hill Country. The changing terrain keeps the ride interesting, offering everything from peaceful flatlands to challenging climbs and descents. The landscape here has a special charm, and riding through it on horseback makes the experience even more immersive.

Trail Tips and Details

Our trails are self-guided, but don’t worry—we have a simple system in place to help you stay on track. Keep an eye out for red dots on the trees; simply keep them to your right, and they’ll guide you back to the main ranch road. While the trails aren’t heavily marked, it’s part of the charm of the experience—just enjoy the ride and trust that the red dots will help you find your way!

A Few Important Things to Know

  • Trail Access: It’s just $10 per person to enjoy the trails for the day.

  • Coggins Test: All horses must have proof of a negative Coggins test for the current year.

  • Release Form: A signed release form is required to ride on the ranch.

  • Trail Maps: When you arrive, we'll provide you with a map highlighting some great trail options to explore.

If you’re feeling a bit unsure or would prefer to ride with a guide, we’ve got you covered. Several local riders can take you out on the trails and share their expertise. Just let us know, and we will connect you with one of the wonderful ladies who guide our horseback riding groups. We are hoping to begin guided rides this summer, keep your eyes peeled for future dates!
